2016 version there are some useful functions:
Improved selection: now you can save your selection and items: simply select the items with the right mouse button and choose "Save selection"
It is possible to enter item selection and then call them back.
Cutting list update: In SOLIDWORKS 2016, auto update and Create automatic cut list now work properly: you no longer need to click right mouse button and manually update
